8 blue & white English dinner plates (Myott Meakin WH Grindley KG Luneville)

Set of 8 mismatched blue & white dinner plates in fine 'ironstone' earthenware. Vintage from the 1980s. Seven are english and one french. All measure 25.5 cm in diameter. The decorations, in blue monochrome, of floral motifs and countryside scenes or an asian-inspired landscape are in the spirit of english 'transferware' of the 19th century, which experienced a flashback in the second half of the 20th century. The whole is in very good condition: no major accidents, little or no trace of use (scratches, friction), clean edges. Any defects are indicated below and detailed in the photos. The set includes (2) plates of the myott "finlandia" model, taken over by churchill then queen's in the 1980s (unstamped) (no accident, a few rare scratches from use); (1) k&g plate (keller and guérin) lunéville france (an old chip on the reverse, a few tiny chips on the edge); (1) "the copperfield" plate (unstamped) based on the johnson brothers "coaching scenes" model (no accident, no trace of use); (2) plates by myott meakin, "tonquin" model (a chip under the edge and some slight traces of use); (2) "english country inns / the lambert ams" plates from wh grindley staffordshire (in excellent condition).
