Oil on canvas by Christine Oswalt Pescatori. Dimensions: 60 X 50 cm. Christine Oswalt, a painter, was born in Berlin on January 16, 1938. She studied painting and graphic design at the art schools of Offenbach and Wiesbaden, where she graduated. On a scholarship, she then attended the Académie Ranson in Paris, directed by the renowned master J. Hayter. Her mother, originally from Bern, participated in the annual exhibition of Swiss painters held at the Kunsthalle Bern. She won the Ochs Foundation's first prize for painting in Bern on several occasions, notably in 1953, 1954, 1961, 1966, 1967, 1968, and 1975. In Italy, she exhibited in 1972 at the "Circolo Culturale Dante Alighieri" in Volterra. 1974 Solo exhibition "Il Caravaggio, " Porto Ercole Gallery. 1978 Exhibition "Cavour, " Florence Art Gallery. 1979 Exhibition "Il Cenacolo, " Florence Gallery. 1979 Exhibition "Il Caravaggio, " Rome Gallery. 1981 Mézières, Vaud, Grenier de la Fontaine Gallery. 1985 Villeneuve, Vieux Villeneuve Gallery. Widow of the lawyer Amalindo Pescatori, she lived in the villa in California, near the Palagio, but now resides in the former Pescatori palace in Peccioli. In 2009, a remarkable exhibition was held in Pisa, accompanied by a catalogue.
