Pair antique candlestick table lamps 1890

This pair of lamps have been gently cleaned while respecting the aged patina. They are newly rewired, earthed, pat tested by an electrician and ready to use. Each has the following new components: lamp holder with a cream card cover, gold silk cable, black cord switch, black plug and clip-on black silk lampshade. These lamps can be used with a dimmer. It is possible to use these lights in other countries with a light bulb suitable to local electricity. The eclectic design consists of a tubular column of polished brass with a geometric greek key decoration. The column leads to the ornate square drip pan & sconce in patinated iron. This is followed by a new lamp holder covered by a cream card candle tube. Looking towards the bottom, the base is also square and in patinated iron, with a scalloped & stepped edge and four feet. A band of foliate creates movement & texture. The casting of these bands is superb. Both lamps are stamped on the underside: " r.n. 55656". Each lamp is finished with a new clip-on black silk lampshade lined metallic gold. This complements the tones of the base. In very good condition. The frames are sound and the metal surfaces overall are in very good condition for their age. The original antique patina has been preserved, adding character & depth.
