Rare Italian mid-century chandelier in wood, brass, and lacquered metal, 1950s. A very expressive sculptural design with a strong architectural presence. The chandelier is built around a central black lacquered body with refined brass details, from which six elegantly curved arms extend. Each arm is paired with a shaped wooden fin, creating a composition that is both dynamic and balanced. The use of warm-toned wood adds depth and contrast to the brass structure. The combination of materials is very typical of Italian lighting from this period, where craftsmanship and expressive form were equally important. The sculpted central element and wing-shaped wooden panels give the piece a slightly futuristic character, almost space age, while remaining rooted in the design language of the 1950s. The sockets and small ribbed caps show a level of detail that suggests a quality workshop production rather than mass manufacturing. There are similarities in approach with designers such as Stilnovo or Arredoluce, although this piece stands out for its geometry and interplay of materials. In good original condition, with a beautiful uniform patina on the brass and slight signs of wear consistent with age. The wooden elements are well preserved and give the piece its strong visual identity. Currently equipped with six E14 sockets. A rare and decorative chandelier that works very well above a dining table or in a more intimate setting where the sculptural quality can be appreciated up close. We can handle shipping ourselves and are often much faster than other parties, with delivery to the United States and Asia sometimes in two weeks. Condition: untested, sold as is. Dimensions.
