" irish setters - hunting dogs " - signed 405/500, very beautiful and fresh lithograph representing two heads of irish setter dogs by léon danchin (june 21, 1887, august 4, 1938). Léon danchin was attracted from an early age by drawing and hunting, which became his two passions. After training as a sculptor with two great lille masters, jean joire and giacomo merculiano. Léon danchin devoted himself more specifically to watercolor, then to printmaking. Creator of animal hyperrealism and particularly canine, he is recognized and esteemed worldwide for his hunting engravings. Imitated never equalled; danchin remains, even today, the animal artist of the twentieth century most appreciated by the general public. Ideal for a dog lover or hunting. Modern gilded frame. The work was framed by a framer at cannes p.j fletrer encadreur.
