This beautiful painting is a work by the artist shizuo ashikaga (1917-1991). This watercolor drawing depicts a bird on a climbing plant. Beautifully crafted, the drawing is precise and detailed, enhanced with watercolor. It is a work from the mid-20th century. Signed lower left, with a red inkan, this painting measures 28 X 22 cm. It is captioned in pencil: "traoil plant by ashikaga". I note small stains on the paper and wear on the frames.
