Painting representing a landscape in the village on the edge of a winter pond, signed by the hand of charles cuzin and made in oil on panel (isorel type). Beautiful state of conservation. The setting is offered with the work. Panel dimension: 38 / 55 cm, with frame: 54 / 71 cm. Born in croissy-sur-seine in 1907, he discovered painting when he learned his job as a framer in paris and when he set up his own business. This profession allowed him to meet other artists and contemplate many works. At the same time, he took courses at the école des beaux-arts in paris. In 1936, he left the capital to settle in savoy in the city of aix-les-bains. He continues to work as a supervisor. However, he carried out other more artistic activities. He took part in the restoration of paintings including those of the chambéry theater. He sometimes decorated wine cellars or painted frescoes in the chapel of myans. Having become a painter in his own right, with the sure trait and an obvious recognition in the local artistic world, he was hired during the years 1949 and 1950 to teach drawing at the college of aix-les-bains. Its paint pallet is characterized by dark and cold tones. He likes grey, black and white. He likes to paint snowy landscapes and tormented skies heralding new snowfalls. He paints mainly with a brush, meticulous painter, he likes small touches.
