Tulip round coffee table from designer Eero Saarinen for Knoll International. A world-renowned creation that has become a classic of the 1950s, this table with a singular base and light lines combines modernity and vintage style. In a word, timeless! This is an authentic model from the late 1960s with stamp and hollow number under the foot signed "knoll international" and not "knoll studio" as the model of reissue. The aluminum cast iron base is covered with a white rislan. The tray is made of white carrara marble with slightly bevelled fields. It is a large coffee table format 107cm in diameter and 38cm in height uncommon unlike the small round or oval format. The table is in good general condition given its age. Marble has no big flaws. No cracks, shards or stains but traces of use are still to be noted. On the edge of the board there is a mark as well as small "holes". Several scratches are also noteworthy but this remains discreet. They are mostly seen up close and from the angle of view. Small marks are also present on the rislan base. Look carefully at all the photos that show these traces of use. The marble remains in good aesthetic condition and it can, if necessary, be polished by a marbrier. 106.5cm in diameter. 38cm tall. 45kg.
