Very beautiful dish in chamotte stoneware, with a turned relief decoration, glazed in a palette of greens, beiges and browns. The base is decorated with circular spiral motifs, the edge highlighted with a regular stamped decoration. A fine example of studio pottery combining tradition and freedom of gesture. The piece is signed "GIRAUD" in a rectangular cartouche on the reverse. A very recognizable style. This is Marcel Giraud, known as "Cardelle" (1897–1985), a figure from Vallauris, known for his great mastery of the wheel and his deep knowledge of clays and wood firing. Unique piece, in perfect condition. Beautiful nuanced enamel, finely worked.
