An old wooden step ladder, probably dating from the late 19th century or the first half of the 20th century (between 1880 and 1950). Its trapezoidal shape (wider at the base than at the top) and its bevelled rungs are typical of miller's ladders, picking ladders (for orchards), or period attic ladders. There are also circular perforations at the top of the uprights that were originally used to fix a hook, an axle, or a safety rope. It is now sought after as a trendy decorative object in rustic, chic country, or industrial styles. It is often used as a towel rack in a bathroom, as a plant shelf, or simply leaned against a wall to hang throws or lights. It is in good condition, sturdy, and has a very nice dark and authentic patina, and its small size (5 rungs) makes it easy to integrate into an interior. Width 53/22, height 190.
