Directoire style bed in painted green wood. Composed of a headboard and footboard framed by turned posts ending in small bun feet. The headboard is topped with a triangular pediment simply adorned with a central carved rosette motif. The original long side rails with a rack system allow for the adjustment of the mattress base at various heights, a typical detail of 19th-century antique beds. The whole presents an elegant and streamlined line characteristic of the Directoire style with its straight forms and measured decorations.
