Exceptional pair of monumental floor lamps produced by Maison Roméo, circa 1970, perfectly illustrating the modernised neoclassical aesthetic characteristic of French creations from this period. Each lamp features a slender shaft in transparent lucite, accented by rings in gilded bronze, resting on an architecturally designed square base. The finely sculpted capitals, inspired by the Corinthian order, are made of richly chased gilded bronze, giving the whole a majestic and timeless appearance. The contrast between the transparency of the lucite and the warmth of the gilded bronze creates an elegant balance, typical of 1970s design, blending modern materials with classical references. Electrification present (to be checked according to current standards). A spectacular piece ideal for a grand entrance, a reception room, or an interior with neoclassical, Hollywood Regency, or sophisticated contemporary decor.
