Magnificent desk lamp by Wilhelm Braun Feldweg for Doria Leuchten. Germany 1970s. A rare piece from this fabulous designer. Chrome metal structure. It rotates 360 degrees and features a beautiful yellow and chrome lacquered metal reflector. The reflector tilts up and down. It adjusts in height on the stem that supports it and rotates 360 degrees in its position. The structure attaches to the surface of a desk or shelf. Very stable and practical, it offers various possibilities through its many joints. Beautiful dimensions: Height 65 cm. Width 60 cm. Depth 9 cm. Excellent condition. A few minor signs of wear, nothing significant, see photos. W.B. Feldweg: He was a German industrial designer. Product designer, university professor, and art historian. Founder of the industrial design chair at HfbK Berlin and author. Professor Wilhelm Braun-Feldweg (1908-1998) not only designed and taught but also observed, reflected, and wrote. This approach is indeed the origin of the bf award, which today perpetuates the intellectual (written) legacy of Wilhelm Braun-Feldweg. The written legacy of Wilhelm Braun-Feldweg was transferred to the archives of the Berlin Academy of Fine Arts in 2019. The Museum Angewandte Kunst in Frankfurt am Main acquired the objects in 2023 with the help of the Cultural Foundation of the German States.
