Curved wardrobe

"18th-century château armoire, Lyon region" Early 18th-century château armoire in ash and ash burl, curved on the front and sides. The cornice, with its gendarme's hat-shaped finial, is surmounted in the center by a large shell motif, followed by a smaller one on the upper rail. Carved and shaped doors with molded sides in three panels. The interior of this display armoire features four shaped shelves, one with a row of three bow-shaped drawers. The rounded uprights terminate in snail feet, and the base is carved with foliate ornamentation. It also retains its beautiful original ironwork, signed I. Pierre Varnez. Provincial work from the Lyon region, Regency period.
