Very beautiful green jasper jug by Wedgwood. The ceramics of Wedgwood, created by the Englishman Josiah Wedgwood, born in Burslem in 1730 and died in 1795, owe their success to their innovative production model and the refined aesthetics of their ceramics. The potter Wedgwood developed a semi-porcelain known as Wedgwood jasper. This dense and hard ceramic is tinted with blue, yellow, or green metallic oxides serving as a background, then decorated with white bas-reliefs in the classical style. This enthusiasm for antiquity dates back to the discoveries made during the excavations of Herculaneum and Pompeii at that time. The tin lid is missing, but that does not detract from its charm! It can serve as a vase. Height: 21 cm, diameter at the base: 9.5 cm, and at the top: 6.5 cm. Weight: 915 g. Very beautiful bas-reliefs on antiquity.
