A Swedish lounge chair designed by Carl Malmsten and produced by O.H. Sjögren, Tranås, in the 1950s. This is the Lillasyster model (“little sister”), a smaller-scale design that still carries the same presence and comfort found in his larger pieces. The chair has been reupholstered in a rich green mohair velvet from the Sign collection by Chase Erwin, finished with silk tufted buttons by Samuel & Sons. The fabric has a dense pile and a natural sheen, shifting slightly in tone with the light and giving the surface real depth. The shape is generous without feeling oversized, with rounded arms and a deep, supportive seat that sits comfortably in a room without dominating it. There’s a softness to the form, but it has a nice weight to it and feels properly grounded.
