Coffee table in wood and ceramic attributed to "juliette belarti", it is not signed, but its style is very recognizable here. The ceramic tiles are supported by a chipboard panel, but the outline of the table and the legs (removable) are made of solid wood, visibly stained and waxed elm. The table is in excellent condition for its age (1960-1970) and there are no defects on the ceramic tiles, magnificent with this colorful turquoise enamel accent. I got this table from my mother who lived in Belgium, and for the record, there was a ceramist based in Ostend named Julien de Covemaeker (1927-2008) very well known for these ceramic coffee tables and bars. Sometimes he signed his works "julien", other times "juliette belarti", and sometimes nothing at all...but enthusiasts will not be mistaken, it is an exceptional piece!.
