Vintage wardrobe from the Reconstruction era, René Gabriel, a major figure in post-war French furniture. This beautiful oak wardrobe features a simple and functional construction, characteristic of furniture from 1945-1950, with its framed panels, geometric lines, and slightly splayed legs. The whole piece perfectly evokes the aesthetic of the Reconstruction, favouring simplicity of forms, robustness, and the natural beauty of wood. It is particularly interesting for enthusiasts of post-war French furniture and Reconstruction design. The wardrobe is in vintage condition, with some signs and marks of use consistent with its age. It has been fully disassembled, cleaned, and then waxed, which has helped to revive and nourish the oak while preserving its original patina. It has original locks and key, all functional. Note: Originally, it had a central partition with a hanging space on one side and shelves on the other. This partition being absent, it has been transformed into a total wardrobe. Upon request, the central partition and shelves can be recreated (+€70). An authentic, warm, and decorative piece that will easily find its place in a vintage, contemporary, or country house-style interior. Dimensions: L.118.5 X D.52 X H.180cm.
