Curule bench

Rare double curule armchair (also known as dagobert) in carved walnut, purchased in milan from an antique dealer (navigli), estimated at the end of the 19th century. The fixed sculpted backrests have a gothic style decoration with a renaissance taste decorated with foliage scrolls and are topped with 3 uprights in the shape of grimacing monster heads. It is characterized by an x-shaped base and a low crossbar. There are also 2 masks on the facade. The slatted seat is in good general condition (note a small crack and traces of wear). The two armrests with crooks with sculptures of acanthus leaves end in volutes.
