Dining table

Beautiful table with an almost square shape, made entirely of solid wood, it is rustic but with lovely details that suggest it is not just a simple farmhouse table: the legs are crafted with nice vertical lines, and the edge of the top is also worked. It was made by a cabinetmaker from Oiron (like the Château de Oiron in Deux-Sèvres!) whose mark can be seen when pulling on the sides that are used to extend it. Indeed, it is a table that can be extended from both sides to create a very large rectangular table by pulling on the structure, but unfortunately, the extensions are missing. However, it is relatively simple and probably not too expensive to have them made by a carpenter-cabinetmaker. Perhaps he could take the opportunity to address some of its minor "issues." In fact, it is in its original condition, with the patina of years and intensive use. At my home, the children have "scribbled" on it with felt-tip pens (I imagine a professional will know how to remove these marks). It also has many other various marks, including quite deep "scratches" on the legs, but remains very solid and usable as is. It measures 105 cm by 115 cm, with a height of 73 cm. It can easily accommodate 8 guests, but can fit up to 10 without the extensions, and probably easily up to 14 with extensions! It must weigh around 50 kilos (it takes two people to lift it).
