Aluminum 3 seater sofa designed by Bruce Hannah and Andrew Morrison for Knoll. This design team worked together at Knoll throughout the 1970s. Like Marc Newson's Lockheed Lounge, Hannah and Morrison's 1971 aluminum pieces were inspired by sailing ships and the way sails fit into a channel in the mast. Aluminum side panels release the center sling, where the padding slides into a channel in the metal bar. It is extremely easy to retrieve if desired. Easily removable with an Allen key. Condition: The white aluminum has minimal signs of use, some marks that with a little elbow grease will disappear, there is a flaw in the upholstery of the back cushion on the right, visible in the photo. Dimensions: Length 177cm. Width 70cm. Height 72cm. Seat height 45cm. Seat depth 46cm. Armrest height 52cm. 3-seater sofa place of origin: America c. 1970. Materials: Cast aluminum painted white epoxy. Upholstery redone, ribbed velvet riga lelievre venetian color (m1).
