Round plate service "Chickadee" Longwy, around 1900. Made in France. In good condition, or lack fele. Wear over time. Diameter 29,5 cm. Longwy. It is in a disused convent of the Carmelites, that a factory is founded in Longwy, in 1798, by Boch and Nothomb. The Foundation of this pottery took off the reputation of the city. This creation was the last link in a long chain. Indeed, in the 18th century, a wave of earthenware crossed Lorraine from East to West, passing through Niderviller, Lunéville, St. Clement, Sarreguemines, Thionville, the Mexico and Tampa. But while in other places the adventure was short-lived, at Longwy faienciere activity has flourished, withstood crises and continues today at the end of two centuries.
