Luxurious cabinet with renaissance withdrawal in italian-influenced walnut, belligerent and antique around 1650. It opens with four leaves and two drawers in belt. Twelve fabulous sculptures erected in caryatids punctuate the façade. The leaves bear in the center very beautiful mascarons with salient relief. The two belt drawers are separated from the lower and upper bodies by a wide molding on the one hand and by the top with godronned border on the other hand. The consoles that separate the drawers are loaded with extraordinary mascarons. The draw handles are located in the outstretched arms of 4 fantastic characters. The pediment is decorated with alternating palmettes and flowers as well as three chubby figures. The sides are paneled. For this masterpiece the cabinetmaker varied with great genius the decorative motifs: palmettes, oves, leaves, rosettes, and others... But even more, he created for each profile and for each face a different portrait. The manner of jacques androuet du cerceau seems to have inspired the master creator of this piece of furniture. It probably also followed the work of the most famous burgundian carpenter and sculptor of his time, hugues sambin who, like the hoop left many models, useful for the realization of the furniture. H191 X 128 X 60.
