This elegant large Dutch brass umbrella/cane stand from the 1900s is ready to bring a touch of old-world charm to your entryway or foyer. Crafted from solid brass, it stands out with its slightly nuanced patina and embossed decoration; a large double frieze of grape bunches and vine leaves, typical of the Art Nouveau aesthetic of the Belle Époque. Its curved shape and gadrooned base give it excellent stability while emphasizing its refinement. This type of object, both decorative and functional, was once used in bourgeois homes. Its large size also makes it an elegant planter. A beautiful, characterful object for lovers of vintage decor or collectors of authentic pieces! CONDITION Good overall condition with some signs of age that give it the character of its years of loyal service. The brass has been polished and retains a slightly nuanced patina; however, it may regain a more brownish hue over time. Some dents and dents (on the base and the raised areas of the brass). Traces and stains of oxidation, and a rare presence of verdigris. DIMENSIONS Height 52cm. Top diameter 29cm. Bottom diameter 25cm. Weight 3kg. Ref 279/25.
