Bar designed by Charlotte Perriand for the Aiguille Rouge residence, built and furnished in Arc 2000 in the French Alps in 1979. Placed in front of the kitchen, it is made of solid pine and consists of three shelves and a free-form top, typical of the designer's organic approach. This model illustrates Perriand's work for the resorts of Les Arcs, where she designed functional, robust furniture suited to communal mountain living for over twenty years. Provenance: Aiguille Rouge residence, Arc 2000, circa 1979. Bibliography: Model to be compared with the model of the identical bar, Charlotte Perriand, The Complete Works, Volume 4: 1968-1999, Jacques Barsac, Éditions Norma, p. 194. Traces of use and restoration.
