Aegitna in vallauris sauce boat and its solidarity saucer in green enamelled earthenware mark on the bottom height: 12cm diameter (container): 10cm very good condition *old house, founded by placide saltalamacchia. Why aegitna The greek historian polybius (2nd century bc) is said to have spoken of a city bearing this name (book XXXIV of his "histories"), but the exact location is not known. Some saw cannes there, others vallauris; it seems that it was rather mougins ("mons aegitna"). In short, the tenants of vallauris adopted the name, and among them, saltalamacchia. Placide (born in 1903) was succeeded by joseph, then gaby and nicole. Activity definitively stopped in 2010.
