Patricia Urquiola, the Spanish designer of Milan

Patricia Urquiola (born 1961) is one of the most influential designers of the early 21st century. A Spanish architect trained at the Politecnico di Milano with Achille Castiglioni, she ran Vico Magistretti's studio before founding her own studio in Milan in 2001. Since then, she has signed for B&B Italia, Moroso, Kartell, Cassina, Molteni & C, Flos a body of work where warmth and colour dialogue with Milanese rigour. Her Antibodi armchair for Moroso, Bend sofa for B&B Italia, CC-Tapis rugs compose a major contemporary body of work.

The Antibodi armchair Moroso, Bend sofa B&B Italia and Patricia Urquiola pieces for Cassina remain the designer's most identifiable. Contemporary furniture to find for those wanting a major Italian-Spanish signature of contemporary design.
