Warren Platner, the steel lace armchair
Warren Platner (1919-2006) made steel wire a noble material. An American designer who worked with Eero Saarinen and I. M. Pei, he designed in 1966 for Knoll a furniture collection with no equivalent: the Platner chair and armchair, where more than a thousand gold-plated steel rods welded one by one form inverted tulip silhouettes.
