Ico Parisi, the architect of Como Italian design
Ico Parisi (1916-1996) is one of the major Italian architect-designers of the second half of the 20th century. Based in Como, in the Lombardy that is the cradle of Italian design, he founded with his wife Luisa the La Ruota studio in 1948, and developed there a body of work where architecture, furniture and art merged. His sculptural marble coffee tables, armchairs for Cassina and MIM, and inlaid wood chests remain the most identifiable pieces of a precise signature, sometimes forgotten beside the great Milanese.
Marble coffee tables, Cassina armchairs and Ico Parisi chests remain the designer's most identifiable pieces. Italian vintage furniture to find for those wanting a rare Lombard signature, at the crossroads of architecture and sculpture.
