Henry Massonet, designer of the Tam Tam stool
Henry Massonet (1922-2005) is one of those French designers whose name flew under the radar while his flagship piece enjoyed planetary success. An industrialist settled in the Jura, he designed in 1968 what would become one of the absolute best-sellers of plastic furniture: the Tam Tam stool. Edited by Stamp, this coloured polypropylene hourglass became in a few years a beach, pool, then interior companion. More than 12 million units sold worldwide, and still produced today.
The Tam Tam Stamp coloured plastic stool remains to this day one of the most recognisable industrial furniture pieces of French design. A simple and joyful vintage seat to find for those wanting a timeless pop touch in their interior.
