Pierre Cardin, the couturier who designed furniture

Pierre Cardin (1922-2020) was not only the great couturier we know: he also signed, from the 1970s, a production of Space Age furniture of great formal audacity. Plexiglass and chrome tables and desks, futuristic-silhouette armchairs, polished metal lamps, fully lacquered sets in saturated colours: Cardin furniture, often self-produced in his Parisian Évolution Boutique, is today particularly coveted on the French vintage market for its pop audacity and its direct link with Seventies haute couture.

Pierre Cardin desks, tables and armchairs in plexiglass and chrome remain the most identifiable pieces of the couturier's furniture production. French vintage furniture to find for those wanting a bold and recognisable Parisian Seventies signature.
