Jacques Biny, French Lita lighting

Jacques Biny (1913-1976) is one of the great producers of French post-war lighting. Founder of the Luminalite publisher in 1956, then artistic director of Lita from the 1960s, he signed a production of floor lamps, pendants and sconces where modernist rigour meets noble materials: brass tubes, black lacquered metal, copper shades. His Lita 232 lamp and floor lamp with swivelling shade remain the most iconic pieces. A French signature that dialogues with Mathieu Mategot's and Pierre Disderot's.

Lita lamps and floor lamps signed by Jacques Biny, in brass and lacquered metal, remain the designer's most identifiable pieces. French vintage lighting to find for those wanting a precise French modernist signature, at the crossroads of Disderot and Mategot.
