Tommaso Barbi, gilded ceramic Italian lamp

Tommaso Barbi is an Italian designer active in the 1960s and 70s, whose production of lamps in ceramic and gilded brass has become one of the most recognisable signatures of Italian decorative lighting of the period. Based in Bassano del Grappa, he ran B. Ceramiche, a manufactory specialising in high-end lighting, and developed there for two decades flower lamps, gilded ceramic leaf pendants, porcelain bamboo bases. A luminous and opulent production that equipped Italian interiors in the Seventies.

Tommaso Barbi lamps in gilded ceramic and brass, particularly his flower lamps and bamboo bases, remain the designer's most identifiable pieces. Italian vintage lighting to find for those wanting an opulent and decorative Seventies signature.
