Jacques Adnet, French saddle-stitched leather

Jacques Adnet (1900-1984) is one of the great names of French Art déco and post-war modernism. Director of the Compagnie des Arts Français between 1928 and 1959, he signed for three decades furniture where post-war elegance meets craft precision: lacquered metal structures, glass tops banded with saddle-stitched leather, leather-bound mirrors. His collaboration with Hermès from the 1950s onwards produced some of his most coveted pieces, where every stitch is a French luxury signature.

Coffee tables, leather-bound mirrors and magazine racks by Jacques Adnet in saddle-stitched leather, often from the Hermès collaboration, remain the most sought-after pieces on the French vintage market. A signature to find for those wanting authentic Parisian luxury in their interior.
