Baca Faience plates by Nils Thorsson for Royal Copenhagen, 1960

This set of four Mid-Century Modern, highly detailed ceramic/faience plates is part of Royal Copenhagen's BACA series, designed by Nils Thorsson (1898-1975) and produced in the 1960s. Thorsson's exact work can be seen in the highly detailed and complex relief patterns from the BACA series, considered by many to be prime examples of mid-century modernism among ceramic forms. The plates are stamped and carry Nils Thorsson's signature stamp and a blue mark of Royal Copenhagen.
