Library flexible "CSS" in white lacquered wood and stainless steel, by Georges Nelson dating back to the 1970s. It has four amounts to be fixed to the floor and ceiling, 7 shelves and 5 cells. Herman Miller furniture International Edition. The total height can be reduced (the height is adjustable to +/-2 cm). All the elements are attached to the amounts with metal fasteners. Original label "furniture International 162 bld Voltaire Paris". Good condition. The set is composed of:-7 shelves (dim: P: 33 cm;) L: 81 cm) - 2 boxes with side doors (dim: P: 47 cm;) H: 37 cm; L: 81 cm) - 1 subwoofer flip-top (dim: P: 35 cm;) H: 55 cm; L: 81 cm) - 1 box with sliding glass doors (dim: P: 33 cm;) H: 39 cm; L: 81 cm) - 1 box with 3 drawers (dim: P: 49 cm;) H: 37 cm; L: 81 cm) modular shelf CSS (Comprehensive Storage System) was designed by George Nelson for Herman Miller in 1957 and has been published by him between 1959 and 1973. George Nelson (1908-1986) is an American designer known for his contribution to the international influence of the Herman Miller Editor. It is causing many icons of the 20th century. Among his most famous creations, the Marshmallow Sofa there (1956), the Chair of MAA (1958) fiberglass and steel chrome but also Coconut headquarters (1954).
