Poureuse by roger and marie france collet in vallauris. He is one of the most important figures in vallauris ceramics. His qualities as a turner are unanimously recognized. Born in switzerland in 1933, he graduated from the ceramics school of chavannes-rennes. He arrived in vallauris in 1956 and opened his own studio in 1966 after working for ten years for various ceramicists such as fernande kohler, robert pérot and roger capron. He first worked on the land of vallauris and in 1972 he bought a sandstone kiln and refined his production using sandstone and porcelain. From 1983, he evolved in his artistic research by making ceramics inspired by the production of the song dynasty. He continues to work today on a wide variety of land applying graphic decoration to large-form pieces. He won a gold medal in 1968, at the first vallauris ceramic biennale, and another gold medal at the faenza international ceramics competition in 1977. Roger collet has often collaborated with close friends such as the painter andré cottavoz, paolo boni, the ceramicists albert thiry, francis crociani... He died in 2008. Books and exhibitions pay tribute to his work. (information borrowed from ceramics 50 that I thank for their work).
