"no more flat tires! By the use of fucosine." this is how gil baer's advertisement (1859-1931) was titled to remind cyclists of the indispensable use of this miracle product before considering any ride. Advertisers knew how to do it, at the belle époque. Posters certainly but also advertising objects, like this pretty pocket in finely decorated tin. This one takes up one of the artistic themes very in vogue then: hunting, with the idea of recalling the ephemeral side of life. Here, an agile lizard watches over its prey, a delicate bee that has just forked out a flower. The moment is suspended, anchored in the metal. This is how the owner of this beautiful object will, discreetly, the business of the sellers of fucosine because the name intrigues and forces to inquire... Clever!.
