Red Lacquered Hat Box, China early twentieth century

Field box, china. Twentieth century, 19th century style, end of the qing dynasty. In papier-mâché, lacquered in dark red with antique brass embellishments. This object, which opens into several compartments, was used by the chinese people to carry hats and small objects inside or to have meals in the fields.
