Chair 714 by Jacob and Josef Kohn. The first known occurrence of the 714 in the catalogue dates from 1902-1903, its creation being plausiblely earlier. The authority of the model was traditionally attributed to the Viennese architect Otto Wagner (1841-1918) by reconciling the cutting patterns of its veneer, with the model No. 721 (posterior) of which he the proven creator. Also, some historians of curved wooden furniture (Giovanni Renzi, J. V. Chillida) now see it rather as the imprint of Gustav Siegel who was one of the pioneers among manufacturers, from the designs of curved wooden armchairs known as "quadrangular sections", such as the No. 715 which allowed Kohn to win the grand prize of the Paris World's Fair. In its find juice in beautiful condition, stamp and label, original blonde patina. Collector of curved wooden architect furniture and the contribution of the Viennese Secession to Art Nouveau.
