Oak work table with granite sheet

What a special Dutch work table from the 1930s! This old work table comes from a farm in Zuidwolde whose farmer was known as the richest in the village. This table was in the kitchen and was used as an extra work place and to prepare food. The granite table top is 4 cm thick and in total, this table weighs about 150 kg! Granite or terrazzo was made from remnants of granite and marble, which were no longer usable. These remains were poured into concrete and then smoothed and polished. The base is oak with 6 table feet and two long drawers. The granite table top has been cleaned and polished. In one photo, you can see that two holes are filled with epoxy. Since this table is very sturdy and solid, it makes sense in a kitchen as a kitchen island or as an extra workspace. A real eye-catcher! H 81 / L 150 / P 92
