A fine quality antique english george V arts & crafts single oak rush seated ladder-back dining armchair, circa 1920, in excellent original condition. The armchair incorporates five shaped horizontal splats, held between two vertical supports, in the form of a ladder back design. The chair displays shaped arms, connecting from the back supports to turned, tapering supports. The armchair boasts an integral rush seat, which is in very good condition (free from wear or damage). The chair is raised on straight, simple turned legs to the front and sabre legs to the rear. The legs receive additional strength through being connected together by simple turned stretchers, with one to the front and rear and two stretchers on either side. The armchair is solidly constructed and sits evenly on the ground. The armchair boasts a warm, golden brown colour. As it boasts the original polish, it has a lovely colour and patination this can only be achieved through age and the years of care and cleaning it has received. Stock no.: 444.
