Portrait of a man by the painter jeanne guilmet (1887-1975) in 1944. Painting in the tawny style (fauvism: french pictorial movement of the early 20th century, based on the simplification of forms, the use of pure colors juxtaposed and seeking the intensity of expression. Green is one of the dominant colours). Jeanne guilmet, born in paris at the end of the 19th century, a pupil of chesneau and andré lhote, was recognized as an anjou painter. Four of his paintings are on display at the museum of fine arts in angers. Traces of time: accidents and restorations (re-sticking on new canvas) Canvas dimensions 37.5 X 46 cm.
