Laverne chapagne chairs formes nouvelles

Estelle and Erwine Laverne produced exceptionally beautiful, innovative midcentury-modern wallpapers, fabrics and furniture since the fifties. They found that furniture should not obstruct the space effect of a modern interior visually. That is why they developed furniture with round, organic forms, often of translucent Plexiglas. This set of Champagne swivel chairs was designed in 1962 for Formes Nouvelles and part of a series of chairs called The Invisable Series. They are both in a very good original condition, the leather cushions have created a patina trough time.
