Oval-shaped planter with its original cap featuring beautiful marquetry of amboyna burl and rosewood. The lid, decorated with light wood and stained wood, forms diamond patterns in the center. On each side, this lid has small bronze handles. The opening of this small piece of furniture is highlighted by an openwork gallery representing wavelets. All around this planter we observe an amboyna burl groove highlighted with a bronze ingot mold. The inlaid belt is decorated with floral bronze trimmings transforming into falls on the stained wooden legs. The latter are moved and held by an inlaid spacer with concave sides and surrounded by bronze rods. ******** period: mid-19th century perfect condition after restoration. Buffer varnish finish.
