The great wave off kanagawa hokusai print
- H30 x W42

- multicolour
Description
Print of the great wave of kanagawa hokusai. Hokusai's best-known work and the first in his series Thirty-six Views of Mount Fuji, in which the use of Prussian blue renewed the language of Japanese prints. The composition of the wave, a synthesis of traditional Japanese prints and Western “perspective”, earned him immediate success in Japan, then in Europe, where it was one of the sources of inspiration for the Impressionists. Several museums keep copies, such as the Guimet Museum, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the British Museum, and the National Library of France; they generally come from large private collections of Japanese prints established in the 19th century. Format 42.5x30cm. High quality paper. Premium matte white finish. 250g/m2. Other posters available...
