Rare travel writing box signed Chalmel in walnut, 19th century

Rare and elegant travel writing box signed chalmel in 19th century walnut composed of a box decorated with a brass carrying handle and opening with a lockable drawer and accompanied by its small key. The box is topped by a desk mounted on hinges with racks allowing the inclination of the writing surface to be adjusted. It opens with two flaps revealing a writing part covered in brown felt. The box has a brass plaque inscribed: “au soleil paris chalmel 71 faubourg st martin” dimensions: height: 7.5 cm length: 28.5 cm width: 18.5 cm.
