Description
Period: ca. 1950-1960. This very high and slender ewer is distinguished by its exceptionally graceful shape and its beautiful dark blue enamel. The long, thin handle extends from the beak in a sinuous line to the body of the ewer. The blue enamel has beautiful shades of different shades of blue especially up and on the cove. The mark on the base says 'the menton potter'. Menton is a town on the french riviera on the french-italian border. It has a long tradition of ceramics as is typical throughout this region.
