Description
Oil on canvas. Dimensions: 81 cm x 65 cm. Bouquet of neo morandi arums. Signed lower right: m.debever. Morandi style. Giorgio Morandi (born July 20, 1890 in Bologna and died June 18, 1964 in the same city) is a contemporary Italian painter and engraver. It can be clearly identified with a specific school of painting. Cézanne's work represents his major influence: he borrows from him the monumentality of forms and dense areas of color. The artist develops an intimate approach to art. Guided by a formal sensitivity of great refinement, he gives his landscapes and still lifes a subtle delicacy of tone and design, arousing a contemplative mode in the viewer. Still lifes are the most important part of Giorgio Morandi's work. They represent objects carefully ordered on a table in the workshop, to be observed and painted. These objects are easily identifiable from canvas to canvas; these are bottles or jars collected in flea markets or given as gifts by friends or found in the street, and “painted in different colors for the tonal construction of the whole”.
