Old solid wood champagne locker

Real champagne locker. This locker, entirely made of solid wood, dates from the 20s. It was used for a century in a champagne castle, near reims. Of course, it was used to store bottles of champagne in the aging cellar. Entirely made of raw wood, it has taken, over the years, a beautiful gray hue, which is found a lot on the objects of the first half of the twentieth century. It has suffered the harshness of time and woodworms, but it is still strong and stable and will still do its job perfectly for decades. A treatment was applied to stop the proliferation of pests. It has two iron hinges that allow it to be folded up to possibly store it. We added two period chains so that it always keeps its stability. The particularity of champagne lockers is found in its many orifices, drilled in such a way as to hold the bottles upside down.
